Ygor Marotta is a multi-talented artist who was gifted with an incredible aesthetic sense: he is able to transform his own vision of his surroundings into an original and colorful perspective. His power to skilfully and creatively combine colours makes him a brave fighter against the monotony of standards which affects his eyes day by day.
His first professional work with drawing came in 2007, developing a book-object of visual poems called "a flower da pele", exhibited in 2008 in São Paulo, Brazil. His eagerness to combine talent with inspiring messages led him to create the famous street-art series "Mais amor por favor", a mixture of social intervention and philosophy; this piece of art decorated the streets of São Paulo, becoming an instant phenomenon and creating a great impact in the city and elsewhere - the message travelled Latin America and gained evidence in major Brazilian newspapers, as Folha de S. Paulo and Estado de S. Paulo, as well as magazines and websites.
In 2010 Ygor gave his first steps into TV with the release of "Tô frito", a short series of episodes aired in two brazilian channels; the main character, a southern Brazilian guy that decides to make a career as illustrator in São Paulo.
Ygor is always ready to discover new ways of expressing his art; he is part of Vjsuave together with Argentinian Ceci Soloaga. The duo is a real time animation project which consists in selecting and adapting into audiovisual media the best works of both. The project toured Buenos Aires electronic music circuit and performed in Interational Design Festival of Mar del Plata. Vjsuave is currently promoting "Under_line" - a series of collective parties - in São Paulo and recently gained international recognition with the release of a clip for MTV. In 2011, vjsuave performed at Mapping Festival in Geneva, Switzerland, and made an exhibition in Sameheads Berlim.
At the present time Ygor is constantly creating, drawing, vjing and making music; he has plains to combine his various artistic interests in a new exhibition.
